Remembering September 11
Our middle school students had the pleasure of joining in the Village of Ladd ceremony honoring the men and women who lost their lives or were injured on this day, September 11, 2001. Thank you to the Village of Ladd and Guest Speaker will be Colonel Brian Stehle, Ret. U.S. Army 1993-2020, for including our students in this event.

PBIS Kick-Off
This week we kicked off our yearly PBIS team building. This year we are celebrating with a circus theme and the students got started meeting their teams and leaders and learning about the start of the Barnum and Bailey Circus. The teams talked about supporting each other with exhibiting the strong character traits we expect from our Ladd Students. We will all be working together to supporting our students in being the best they can be!

Girls' Basketball
Girls' Basketball is set to begin next week. The first practice and the parent meeting will be held on Monday, September 14th with Coach Dempsey. Please see the information above for details.
Birthday Treat Reminder
As a reminder, all birthday treats must be arranged with either the office or the classroom teacher ahead of time. There is a slight change to the handbook language this year regarding birthday treats. To ensure a positive celebration for your child, please keep in mind that "Families wishing to provide birthday treats for students may do so only if the treats are commercially pre-packaged. Homemade treats are not permitted. Birthday treats must be distributed and consumed as a classroom treat at a time approved by the teacher and may not be served during the lunch period or used as a substitute for a student's lunch. "
Reading Challenge
Our kids are off to a phenomenal start with our Reading Challenge this year. We already have several students who have meet their first quarter goals and beyond. We are so happy seeing students and families making daily reading a priority! Our goal is to have every student meet their reading goals this year. Well done, students!
Emergency Drills
Our first Fire Drill will be held sometime next week. We conduct a minimum of 3 fire drills, 2 emergency weather drills, and one law enforcement drill each year to prepare our students for any possible emergencies. Please talk with your children about always staying calm and following adult directions in emergency situations.
