The start of the 2026-2027 school year is just two weeks away. We are so excited to have our halls filled with students again. As we near the start of the year, here are some very important reminders.
Online Registration
Parents can complete the online registration through TeacherEase at any time prior to August 4th. Parents of students returning to the district can log into TeacherEase for registration. Parents of new students must use the New Student Registration link on the homepage of our website.
In-Person Registration
In-person registration will be held on August 4th from 1:00-5:30. Parents who have not completed the online registration will need to do so in person at that time.
ALL FAMILIES must provide THREE (3) forms of Proof of Residency at the start of registration. Illinois statute requires all public school students to be residents of the districts they attend. Proof of residency is required by all families to ensure compliance with the law. To enroll a student in Ladd School, a permanent residency of the custodial parent or legal guardian, as well as the child is required for every student registering. All custodial parents and legal guardians MUST provide ONE Category I document, and TWO Category II documents as listed below
Category I: Most recent property tax bill and proof of payment, mortgage papers, signed and dated lease and proof of last month's payment, a letter from the manager and proof of last month's payment, letter of residence from the landlord in lieu of lease.
Category II: Driver's license, vehicle registration, voter registration, most recent cable television and/or credit card bill, current public aid card, current homeowners/renters insurance policy and premium payment receipt, most recent gas, electric, and/or water bill, current library card
Dependents of the United States military will be allowed to register while living outside district boundaries IF the family is currently housed in temporary housing AND the family will be living inside the district boundaries within 6 months after the time of initial enrollment. Military personnel will be required to provide proof that the child will be living in the district within 6 months.
No Before Care Services
As a reminder, there will no longer be any Before Care Services for students at the school. Due to a lack of enrollment throughout last year the program is not sustainable. Students can be dropped off at school at 8:00 am when eating breakfast. All other students may arrive at 8:05. No students are allowed on the property before 8:05 without supervision.
Water Bottles
Students are allowed to bring water bottles daily. Recent handbook changes clarify that all water bottles brought to school MUST be clear and contain only still water. Students bringing anything other than a clear water bottle with still water will be asked to leave them in the office. All students will have access to the bottle fillers and drinking fountains throughout the day.

Back to School Night
All students are invited to our Back to School Night on August 13th from 5:00-6:30. Students and families can come meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and drop off supplies in preparation of the first day of school.
2026-2027 School Calendar
You can access the school calendar on our website homepage as well. The first day for all K-8 students is Monday, August 17th. School will dismiss at 2:00 each day of the first week and every Wednesday after. Please refer to the district calendar for further details.
