We want to inform all families that this morning, September 7, 2023, Ladd School will be conducting its annually required Law Enforcement Drill in cooperation with the Ladd Police Department. This drill is intended to teach and practice procedures in the event of an intruder in the building and is required by all schools to be conducted in the presence of students.
While we all dislike this practice and would prefer it were not necessary, I want to assure parents that we take every precaution to prepare students ahead of the drill so there are no surprises or confusion regarding the nature of the drill. We will also answer any questions or concerns the students have as we follow up after the drill.
We encourage families to discuss this event with their children at home and to help them process the experience if they feel it is needed. As always, please reach out to the school with any concerns or questions regarding this practice.
