Ladd School Remote Learning Plan
Vision for Remote Learning
Ladd School is dedicated to creating the best possible learning experience for students when remote learning days are necessary. The success of remote learning is dependent on all stakeholders committing to doing their part to advance student learning at all levels and in all curricular areas. Staff, students and parents each have a role to play in making remote learning successful for our students. This plan is intended to set clear expectations for all stakeholders and to provide resources necessary to make the most of our remote learning days.
Expectations of the District
- Develop a thorough and inclusive Remote Learning plan that meets the needs of all students.
- Support staff in the planning and implementation of the plan.
- Identify needed community resources.
- Facilitate delivery of non digital learning materials.
- Communicate regularly with all stakeholders.
Expectations of Parents
- Support your child through the process as needed.
- Ensure your child has time, space and resources for learning activities.
- Check in with your child to make sure the activities are being completed daily.
- Preschool through 4th grade parents will need to respond to the classroom teacher in Remind every day to account for their child’s school attendance.
- Support students to submit digital assignments when needed.
- Read to or with your child when possible.
- Set reasonable screen time limits daily.
- Contact your child’s teacher or Ms. Dawson with questions or concerns.
- Be mindful of the daily guidelines from the Illinois State Board of Education for daily work time and attention limits for your child’s grade level. (Below)

PreK-4 E-Learning Expectations
Expectations of Staff
- Teachers will have Padlet Boards updated by 9:00am daily.
- Teachers will have learning packets ready to be picked up every Tuesday.
- Teachers will be available to answer questions between the hours of 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00.
- Questions received after 3:00 will be answered the next day.
- Teachers will provide regular feedback to parents and students.
- Teachers will take daily attendance with Remind.
- Continue to collaborate with other teachers to support student learning.
Expectations of Students
- Students will check in to their Padlet Boards and respond to the teacher’s daily post or email teacher’s daily.
- Students will check in with the learning menu or assignment schedule daily.
- Students will complete assigned work by the due date given.
- Students will submit digital assignments when possible with parent support.
- Students can scan or take pictures of hard copy assignments to send to teachers or keep hard copy assignments in a folder to turn in when school resumes.
5-8 E-Learning Expectations
Expectations of Staff
- Teachers will have Google Classroom updated daily by 9:00am.
- Teachers will be available to answer questions between the hours of 9:00-12:00 and 1:00-3:00.
- Questions received after 3:00 will be answered the next day.
- Teachers will provide regular feedback to parents and students.
- Teachers will track attendance by logging students that have checked-in to Google Classroom each day.
- Continue to collaborate with other teachers to support student learning.
Expectations of Students
- Each day students will login to Google Classroom Attendance daily for attendance.
- Each day students will check in to Google Classroom for every class.
- Students are responsible to complete assignments according to the teacher’s weekly plan and/or directions in the following areas:

- Math
- Science
- Social Studies
- PE
- Music

- Students will complete assigned work by the due date given.
- Students will submit digital assignments when possible with parent support.
- Students will scan or take a picture of hard copy assignments and email them to the teachers or upload to Google Classroom by the due date.
